Long weekend...

This weekend was pretty un-eventful compared to the previous weekends since Jesse left. We started Saturday morning by staying in our PJ's until noon then my mom called and told us that her and dad bought a van and we should come check it out. I was debating whether to head down to Fulda to see grandma and get help with my 30lbs of strawberries that needed to be frozen.

So we got ready and headed to Fulda- on the way my aunt called and said they were in Redwood because my uncle's mom was dying but to make a long story short they don't get along with his family so they headed down to grandma's too. So they got there and we took the kids to the park- grandma made my yummy Strawberry Pie. Stayed up crazy late doing strawberries.

Sunday the kids and I came home about two so I could get some work done for my daycare interviews tomorrow but when we got home lost motivation and took a nap- lol. Guess I will hussle around tomorrow before the daycare interview.

THEN the weekend got interesting- after supper the kids were in the tub. I ran to get a towel out of the dryer and came back not more than 30 seconds later to a pretty much bald baby! Nicholae somehow managed to get a scissor in the tub and chopped Tori's hair. *I didn't freak out-- I wanted to but I didn't** THEN I got him out of the tub and told him it was bed time and OH to my surprise he took outside chalk and chalked ALLL over his bed. *loosing it at this point but I kept my cool* So he went to bed and I got Tori to bed then I went to go put laundry away and turned my bedroom light on and OMG he colored green crayon all over the floor between the bedroom and bathroom and all over my white carpet! ANY IDEAS HOW TO GET CRAYON OUT OF WHITE CARPET?

Now if he is not acting out then I will never know the meaning to the term acting out!

I am going to bed before I discover any more things that will irritate me.... It's a NEW day tomorrow!

POOL TIME!!! *SPLASH*

Today was an awesome day! Other than the fact that Jesse's military BAH should be $1200 per month and it was only coming in at less than 10bucks this month... *frustrating*

The kids, Tia and I went to the pool this afternoon. Nicholae informed me that we must get some fun pool toys- not an unreasonable request I didn't think. It was packed at the pool but it was tons of fun. I will upload some pics soon.

Tori fell asleep on the way home- it was tooooooo cute. She had so much fun in the pool and didn't mind at all when her brother and Tia splashed her in the face.

Nicholae remembered the time that Daddy and Mommy both took him to the pool and wants to go again when daddy comes home.

We got Taco Johns for supper and a movie. I am predicting an early bedtime all throughout the house! Big day tomorrow- COMO ZOO!!

Just the three of us...

Nicholae, Tori and Mommy-

We are getting along better than I could have ever imagined. I'm not going to sugar coat anything but each child has their moments but being a single parent right now has its benefits because they can't play one parent against the other which was happening ALL the time before.

We have a nice routine going... I think all of us would have to agree that bath time each night is our favorite part of the day because the kids love to splash- I think it is Nicholae's goal to get me more wet outside the tub than him being in the tub! LOL

Tori is changing every day- there are just so many more things she learns each day. The funniest thing I thing she does is when she wants to go from the kitchen to the living room *there are two small steps* she screams her head off until someone rushes to her rescue. When she first learned to crawl up the steps she would fall down but now she is too smart for that- hence the screaming for help!

Nicholae says the most amazing things that just make me stop dead in my tracks and laugh because I wonder where he came up with that. For example: he wanted a drink of my pop and wanted it in his milk glass... I told him to go rinse it out and I would then put pop in it. Well here's what he tells me: "mom, I have a rinser watch" he tipped the cup up and slurped out the rest of the milk and goes: "See, all rinsed out- POP Please" I laughed sooo hard.

Each and every day it is nice we do something fun together- we are making a scrapbook to show daddy when we see him. We go to a different park each day and take pictures. We are also going on a scavenger hunt around town and taking a picture each day of a flag and I am finding a militry honor quote- I am predicting some long hours spent in the photo center editing pictures very soon.

Enough for today- today we are going to New Ulm to see Great Grandma Winch- Planning on taking the kids to the Herman the German Park.

The Meyers Family Changes

It amazes me each day that I wake up and reflect on what has all happened in the last year. We welcomed the new addition to our family Victoria Marie Lynn Meyers on August 1st and since then life as we once knew it has changed drastically. Some for the good and some not so good...

  • On August 19th I was finally licensed for Daycare
  • On October 6th Jesse signed up for the Army Reserves
  • During this time Jesse's job has become very demanding and we don't see him much with him juggling work and school. For a long time and still sometimes I had the feeling he was putting his job and school before his family- that has been difficult for me to deal with because my family is number one!!
  • Last fall I took 18 credits- craziest thing I think I put my mind though in a very long time however I did come out with some of the best grades I have ever gotten.
  • At the end of February I re-signed up as a Mary Kay Consultant because where it could take my family financially.
  • Jesse left for basic training on May 25th- he was scheduled to only be gone until August but will now be gone until the end of October.
  • So right now I am in a forced separation which has been my inspiration to figure out where I want our family to be in the future.
This blog is intended to be a fun light hearted blog where I can post fun things the kids and I do while Jesse is away. I named this blog the Meyers Family 4 because we must put the 4 of us at the highest priority in order to beat the odds of a young married couple with different dreams and goals.
